PHOTOGRAPHER

Hey! My name is Mark O'Shea, and I'm the owner and photographer at Mark O'Shea Studio.

I graduated from the University of Chicago with a B.S. in 2025, and finish a M.S. in 2027. 

 

Photography has been a passion of mine since I was young. With over a decade of experience across yearbooks, publications, and independent work, I’ve developed a strong foundation in both technical precision and authentic storytelling. My work has been recognized with Gold and Silver Key awards from the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.

I've always loved how photography has allowed me to benefit those in my local community: family, friends, classmates, friends-of-friends, people on the street, and so on. Everyone loves a flattering photo, but I find it particularly fulfilling when an image genuinely resonates with someone – whether by preserving an important moment, revealing a side to a character, helping to express an emotion, or bringing a sense of dignity. For anyone I decide to work with – I hope that all of the photos I provide are aesthetic, and that at least some of them end up meaning something more. ​
