Graduation Session Checklist

One Week Out – Final Prep

You’re almost there. A little prep now could make a huge difference in how your photos turn out—here’s what to lock in:

Outfits Are Set

Try everything on again—don’t assume it works.

  • Check for wrinkles, fit, and how it looks in natural light

  • Make sure shoes, accessories, and layers all work together

  • Steam or iron anything that needs it

If you’re unsure, send me photos—I’ll give you a straight answer.

Location + Timing

You should know exactly where you’re going. For graduation shoots, unless we've coordinated otherwise, we will meet just in front of Botany Pond. Please plan to arrive 5-10 minutes early.

Come With a Goal

Take 2 minutes to think about what you actually want:

  • A few clean portraits for social media or announcements

  • Cap & gown photos

  • Photos at a specific campus landmark

  • More casual, personality-driven images

  • Detail shots with cords, stoles, diploma, or other graduation items

  • Some combination of the above

You don’t need a full plan, but having a rough idea helps me tailor the session so you get what you want!

Weather Plan

I’ll keep an eye on conditions. If something looks off (rain, extreme temps, etc.), I’ll reach out with options. Otherwise, assume we’re on.

What to Bring

Keep it simple:

  • Touch-up items (hair, makeup, etc.)

  • Your outfit(s) + any extras

  • Comfortable shoes if we’re walking between spots

  • Cap, gown, cords, or props

  • Champagne (optional)

Final Note

If anything changes – illness, outfit questions, weather worries, etc. – reach out now, not day of. Looking forward to it!
